Ceylon school non academic union expresses that 184 appointments of laboratory assistant have been granted informally for the necessity of the government, instead of promoting to the post of laboratory assistant from nearly 2000 of highly experienced laboratory employees who are employed at national schools of the island.
The union sending a protesting letter on this matter to the education minister mentions that,
it is unfair for 2000 of employees who worked as laboratory helpers for 15-20 years without any promotion. The union indicated that the absence of a constitution for the recruitment and promotion of the laboratory service was a one |

reason and they alleged that the appointments granted soon after the presidential election were on political companionship.
