The crematorium at the Borella Kantta had been in operation between 1 and 2 a.m. this morning. Since the crematorium does not operate after 7 p.m. and since there were two jeeps and white vans inside the premises, a resident in the area had informed the incident to the Borella Police.

Four Iranian commercial ships have been registered under Sri Lanka following a request made by the Iranian government. These ships have been registered under the Sri Lankan flag in order to transport Iranian goods to other countries following the sanctions that are to come into effect.

The Fraud Investigations Bureau in Colombo has found that Deputy Minister Karuna Amman had sent young Tamil women and men after taking large sums of money to Togo and Mali in Western Africa in an illegal manner.
