MP Kudu Duminda’s brother Raynor Silva has asked underworld leader Dematagoda Chaminda to claim responsibility for the murder of Bharatha Lakshman Premachandra and four others and to state that Duminda was not involved in the shooting incident.

Dematagoda Chaminda was arrested after he fled to India following Bharatha’s assassination and is currently in the custody of the CID.

Raynor Silva has promised to Dematagoda Chaminda that he would take full responsibility of his and his family’s future and that he would be released on a Presidential pardon shortly.

However, Dematagoda Chaminda had not responded to the request.

Dematagoda Chaminda had worked for MP Kudu Duminda and his brother who is also an underworld member worked for parliamentarian Thilanga Sumathipala.

Nevertheless, CID officials told us that Dematagoda Chaminda’s life was at stake if he did not agree to Raynor Silva’s request.
