JHU’s Ven. Athuraliye Ratana Thero is working to commence a movement called “Pivithuru Lanka” to build a social ideology against the politics based on thuggery that has been established in the country.

A special event has been organized on November 1^st at the New Town Hall to launch the movement.

A JHU senior told us that the main aim of the movement is to build a social awareness against the political thuggery in the country and to bring together intellectuals, professionals and artists who love the country for the purpose.

JHU General Secretary and Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka has severely condemned the shooting incident that took place in Mulleriyawa on the 8^th.
