The Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation (SLRC) has made plans to organize the Ranaviru Star III together with the Defence Ministry.

Sources from the SLRC say that well known businessman artist, Jackson Anthony has been assigned the task of producing the trailers for the programme. The SLRC has decided to pay him a premium for producing the trailer, but the amount allocated for the purpose is not known yet.

Trade unions affiliated to the corporation have questioned the reason for assigning Jackson Anthony to produce the trailer when there were highly qualified technicians at the SLRC who could produce it.

The SLRC has also taken steps to purchase Jackson Anthony’s “Sancharaya” programme at a very high rate and is to telecast it on Sunday evenings at 7.30 p.m., currently, the programme “Sarisara” produced by the SLRC is telecast at the time.

Trade unions have already expressed their protest to the management over the decision to stop the Sarisara programme to pave the way to telecast, Jackson Anthony’s programme.
