The Supreme Court has asked the Central Bank Governor, Ajith Nivard Cabral to respond on a case filed by UNP parliamentarian Sujeewa Senasinghe calling for action against the officials responsible for the financial losses incurred by the country following an investment in Greek bonds.

The Supreme Court has issued this directive when the case was taken up for hearing on September 6^th.

The country has lost billions due to the Central Bank’s decision to invest in Greek bonds when the Greek economy was on a downward spiral.
