The President has decided to appoint UNP defector to the government, actress Upeksha Swarnamali also known as Pabha as the SLFP Wattala orgaznier after removing SLFP deputy minister and producer of the film “Edath Sooraya-Adath Sooraya” Neil Rupasinghe.

The President has ordered SLFP General Secretary Minister Maithripala Sirisena to appoint all UNP MPs and provincial councilors who defected to the governing party as organizers of the SLFP.

Therefore, SLFP MPs and provincial councilors are likely to lose their positions in the electorates.

Meanwhile, JHU members and Western Provincial Council Minister Udaya Gammanpila has turned down a request by the President to take over the post of SLFP Maharagama organizer.
