Housing, Construction, Engineering Services and Public Amenities Minister Wimal Weerawansa’s housing portfolio is to be assigned to the Defence and Uraban Development Ministry at the next Cabinet reshuffle.

A senior official from the Presidential Secretariat said that Gotabhaya Rajapaksa would therefore be in-charge of Defence, Urban Development and Housing.

However, Weerawansa would continue to hold the portfolios of Construction, Engineering Services and Public Amenities.
