Minister Mervyn Silva has opened a new SLFP office in Kelaniya today at the residence of Jimalka and Anne on the old Kelaniya Road.

They have been affiliated to the UNP in the past and their father is believed to have killed several JVP youths in the Kelaniya area during the 1988-1989 period.

People in the area say that the two of them had operated a brothel at the venue where the SLFP office is now located and that they have given part of the house to Mervyn to operate an office since he had continuously threatened them over the brothel operations.
