Deputy Director of the CID, SSP Gajanayake has recently complained that there were informants of Lanka News Web in the Department and that if found these informants would be punished according ancient methods, it is learnt.

The reason for this outburst was the report published in Lanka News Web detailing the contents of the report prepared by the CID on the Bharatha Lakshman Premachandra’s murder case.

We revealed that the report had stated that UPFA Colombo District MP R. Duminda Silva had shot Premachandra for self defence and has made an attempt to prevent any action by the Attorney General’s Department against Silva.

It is also learnt that a female typist in the legal division of the CID and two police constables in the division have been questioned and statements had been recorded by Assistant Director of the division, SSP S.C.R. Wijesuriya on how information is being leaked to Lanka News Web.
