Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa is in the process of forming an organization of former SLFP parliamentarians who are still alive. The organization is to be established in order to strengthen the SLFP at village level. The first meeting is to be held at the Speaker’s official residence on the 10th of this month at 9 a.m.

A senior government minister said the real reason to establish such an organization is to minimize the dissention that is being built within the SLFP against the Rajapaksas.
