The President is reportedly displeased over Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa’s silence and failure to make any critical comments on India’s stance on the US backed resolution on Sri Lanka at the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) sessions in Geneva.

The President had been critical of Basil Rajapaksa’s action when several ministers had met him for some official work.

The President has said that Basil was being controlled by his Indian son in-law.

He has added that regardless of various allegations, it was only Ministers Wimal Weerawansa and Mervyn Silva who stood by him.
