The Defence Secretary is preparing an active programme to take charge and carry out the work related to governing the country in the event the President is faced with any difficulty.
A key player in the Colombo Stock Exchange, Dilith Jayaweera, who also plays an active role in preparing this programme, has told several of his closest confidantes during a break in the workshop that was held for governing party MPs in Diyathalawa.
Minister Dullas Alahapperuma had asked Jayaweera and Dhamma Dissanayake to participate in the workshop in Diyathalawa.
Jayaweera has said that the Defence Secretary should get the honor of defeating terrorism from the country after the President. He has said the programme is being prepared with the president’s consent and that the President believes that Gotabhaya Rajapaksa should govern the country until Namal Rajapaksa is of age to take over.
Jayaweera has said that work on the programme has commenced on several fronts and that he was handling the committees on the coordination of the media and finances.
