The Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) has reportedly spent over Rs. 20 million to construct a hall to hold election meetings of the UPFA at Temple Trees. The Presidential Secretariat is yet to reimburse monies spent by the SLPA to build the hall.
The hall that was used by President Mahinda Rajapaksa during election times to hold meetings and banquets for various people had cost Rs. 25,566,521.98 for the SLPA.
The SLPA had written several letters dated July 30, 2010, September 16, 2010, Ocotber 21, 2010, December 10, 2010 and May 18, 2011 to the Presidential Secretariat reminding about the dues from building the hall at Temple Trees.
However, the Presidential Secretariat has failed to make the payment.
