The Sri Lankan government is mulling to bring a tough anti-corruption law against unfair practices in sports in the wake of spot-fixing scandals in the IPL and Bangladesh Premier League.


Finance Ministry Secretary Dr. P.B. Jayasundera has proposed the name of former Manager of the Bank of Ceylon, W.A. Nalini to the post of National Savings Bank (NSB) Chairman. W.A. Nalini had studied together with Jayasundera at the Colombo University. She has been appointed to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Sunil S. Sirisena from the post of NSB Chairman.

The government and Saudi Arabia’s Aramco Company that are engaged in discussions to hand over the refining and distribution of fuel in Sri Lanka are now facing an issue over dividing shares.
