Former Army Commander Sarath Fonseka making his dock statement on the 26th told the Colombo High Court that the Chief Justice would be made a minion of the government and the supremacy of the judiciary would be diminished by the 19th Amendment to the Constitution that is to be presented to parliament with the aim of bringing the judiciary under the Rajapaksas. He said the move would be the final nail in the coffin of democracy.
