  One D.P. Chitrasena residing at 65/2 Adihena Road, Gothatuwa has in writing complained to Chief Justice Ashoka de Silva and the Judicial Services Commission that Appeal Court Judge Sarath de Abrew had paid him a sum of Rs. 17,683,227.31 and got him to complete the construction of a house at 4/1 Attidiya Road, Ratmalana and was now avoiding the payment of the remaining Rs. 2,373,622.44 using the powers of his office.

SHR condemns the blatant attack to lanka-e-news

  It was reported that the main operation center of lanka-e-news web was attacked by an unidentified group causing severe damages to the premises and equipment.
We thoroughly condemn this brutal attack with displeasure and consider it as a threat on the freedom of expression of the people guaranteed by the constitution of Sri Lanka. The attacks of this caliber have taken place continuously for half a decade in Sri Lanka implicating deteriorating media freedom in the democratic nation.
