Somaratne Dissanayake gets assaulted outside Royal College
A pro-Rajapaksa artiste, Somaratne Dissanayake, who was the chief guest at an event held at Royal College, was assaulted near the school gate. A son of a DIG had reportedly attacked Dissanayake and had threatened him with death.
Lak Salusala outlet in Bambalapitiya to be given to Basil's hair stylist
The Lak Salusala outlet at the ground floor of the Bambalapitiya flats is to be closed down and allocated to the Salon Anoma, which is also located at the same premises. Lak Salusala Chairman, Roshan Maddumage had made this decision following a directive by Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa.
White flag case postponed till Wednesday due to non availability of original video
The three judge panel at the Colombo High Court that is hearing the “white flag” case have said that they would decide on Wednesday (1) whether the videotage of Sarath Fonseka's speech made in Kudagama in Ratnapura during the Presidential election campaign handed in by Derana TV could be used as evidence in the case.

Letters to the Presidential Secretariat should be sent in Sinhala

Newly appointed secretary to the Ports and Highways Ministry, Sujatha Cooray has issued a directive that all letters sent by the ministry to the Presidential Secretariat be written in Sinhala and that when sending a special report, a Sinhala translation be annexed to it.
Minister Kumara Welgama displeased with the reduction of ministerial powers
The gazette notification outlining ministry subjects has stated that Kumara Welgama, who was re-appointed as the Transport Minister, has been assigned only the loss making Sri Lanka Railways Department and the Sri Lanka Transport Board.
