According to a source in the Sri Lankan External Affairs Ministry, Minister Professor G L Peiris is unhappy about his recent disastrous visit to the United Kingdom and refused to authorise instalment payment to Bell Pottinger, a UK based PR firm appointed by the Sri Lankan government to salvage its image in the world stage amidst claims of war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by its armed forces whose Commander-in-Chief is President Rajapaksa. The source also confirmed that Bell Pottinger has suspended its services to the Sri Lankan government because of non-payment of fees. The contract with Sri Lanka also causes adverse publicity for the PR firm.

The Sri Lankan delegation that was unable to respond to questions posed during the social, economic and cultural heritage sessions that went on for two days at the Human Rights Commission in Geneva, has falsely accused the Transparency International Sri Lanka office at the Commission, Lanka News Web learns.
The 15 member UN experts who were in-charge of the two day sessions on social, economic and cultural heritage at the UN Human Rights Commission in Geneva has be en critical of the report presented by the Sri Lankan government, it is learnt.
