Army Commander’s wife Anjalika Jayasuriya has taken steps to remove the head of the Armored Corp Brigadier Indunil Ranasinghe for not paying attention to her directives.
The Army Commander’s wife who had addressed a meeting of the Seva Vanitha unit of the Armored Corp had said, “I can easily find eunuchs like your Commander.”
She had also ordered that the relevant army officers and their wives had to attend meetings called by her.
Commanding Officer of the 4th Armored Corp Lieutenant Colonel Weragama was removed from his post after he and his wife failed to attend a meeting summoned by the Army Commander’s wife.
A senior officer from the Army Headquarters said that Army officers feared the Army Commander’s wife.
The officer added she was also angry with the senior Army officers who provided young soldiers to the Army Commander and that she openly reprimanded them in public regardless of the offices held by them.
