One acre land on Ward Place brought by Namal under a different name

The President’s eldest son parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa has purchased a one acre land along with a house at No. 62 Ward Place, next to the late President J.R. Jayewardene’s residence, under the House of Fashion owner’s name.
The legal dispute over the land between 24 persons over the past few years had been resolved with the intervention of the Attorney General on a Presidential directive.
Although the families who owned the land had agreed not to sell the land to a Sinhalese, they had finally changed their minds following continuous pressure.
