Freelance journalists prevented from covering Jaffna development meeting

A meeting that was held on the development work in Jaffna at the Jaffna Library auditorium on the 25th was open only for the state media and EPDP supporters have prevented other freelance journalists from covering the meeting.
The discussion on development was held under Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa’s patronage. Minister Douglas Devananda, Jaffna District Secretary Imelda Sukumar and Jaffna Security Forces Commander Major General Mahinda Haturusinghe were also present at the discussion.
The journalists who were prevented from covering the meeting had presented their media IDs, but had not
been given permission to enter the venue of the meeting.
