President has advisors who mislead him – Minister Basil |

Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa has said that Sri Lanka is under great pressure from the international community due to the advice received by several advisors to the President and that they continue to mislead him.
The Minister had made this comment when several senior ministers had met with Basil and asked as to why he was keeping quiet these days.
Basil had said that he was overseas since his daughter had a baby and he was keeping quiet because there were a large number of advisors around the President these days. |

He had said that instead of identifying the situation in the international community and responding properly to the Ban Ki-moon report and the Channel 4 video, the government was issuing statements to please the Sinhalese community in the country. Basil had said that he had seen first hand the impressions of Sri Lanka in the international community during his recent overseas trip. |
