  Anusha violates court order to remove suspension on LankaeNews

  The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) has failed to implement the directive issued by Pugoda Magistrate Aravinda Perera on the 12th where the temporary suspension on the LankaeNews website was removed.

Therefore, readers are still unable to view the website in Sri Lanka.

A well known lawyer expressing his views on the matter said that TRC Director General Anusha Pelpita was violating the court directive and is acting in contempt of court due to pressure by high ranking politicians.
  He said that appropriate legal action will be taken regarding the matter in future.

Sri Lankan readers are also unable to access our Lanka News Web website that criticize the government's arbitrary actions. The suspension of the website that has been carried out without any legal approval and it is now 676 days since the website has been unofficially barred in Sri Lanka.
