Lands in the North and East to be auctioned |

Executive Director of Land Reclamation Corporation, Hariguptha Rohanadheera said the Commission was looking at the possibility of selling its lands in the North and East provinces or lend them out on long term leases. He made this comment when we inquired about it from him and said the Commission had approximately 35,000 acres in the two provinces.
Rohanadheera said the lands would be given out for agriculture, business and housing purposes. However, he said conditions would be laid down if the lands are to be used for housing purposes. |
