	Gotabhaya agrees to withdraw cases against The Sunday Leader

A senior official at the Justice Ministry told Lanka News Web that the President has decided to withdraw all the cases filed by Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa against The Sunday leader newspaper.

A defamation case filed against The Sunday Leader newspaper by Gotabhaya Rajapaksa is still being heard at the Mt. Lavinia Court.

However, the official said the President and the Defence Secretary were happy with the lead story carried in the newspaper last week, which was unfavorable for General Sarath Fonseka.
