The President had reprimanded the Managing Director of the EAP Group of Companies, Jeevaka Edirisinghe over the story carried in our website the Basil Rajapaksa had purchased the Swarnavahini TV channel and had ordered him to issue a statement denying the story.
The President had asked Jeevaka to keep the Swarnavahini deal a secret until the conclusion of the general election.
It is reliably learnt that the President had also requested Basil not to appoint Nishantha Ranatunge and others to Swarnavahini until the conclusion of the general election.
