UNP Western Provincial Councilor A.J.M. Muzammil has disagreed with the move to appoint fellow Provincial Councilor Rosy Senanayake to the Presidential election propaganda committee, as she was openly critical of General Sarath Fonseka’s candidature at the election.
Muzammil had made this comment at the propaganda committee meeting held at the official residence of the Opposition Leader on Thursday (26).
Muzammil had objected to the committee’s decision to appoint Rosy to a responsible post in the election campaign. He had told the meeting attended by UNP General Secretary Tissa Attanayake, SLFP (M) Wing leader Mangala Samaraweera and several other leaders
of the UNF that although it was Rosy’s right to criticize the General, it was dangerous to work with people engaged in double games at a crucial election.
