increments to state bank employees for the past nine months and the non payment of pensions to employees for the past 13 years.
Gamini said the politicians in the South were responsible for the development work in the area and the government was responsible for finding solutions to the economic crisis.
He further noted that the main of the government was to gain the support of the state bank employees for the Southern Provincial Council elections, as it was not up to the state bank employees to discuss the millions of rupees lost by the state banks due to Mihin and the hedging deal.
Gamini said a request has therefore been made from the President not to waste the time of state bank employees on futile discussions. |
